2 ) Statement of appreciation, 27-11-44 by the C. in C. of Luftflotte 5 (General Kammhuber) to Wettererkundungsstaffel 5 for the discovery and correct reporting of an ememy (ships) convoy (incl. an airplane carrier). The crew of Albers is given the credits for this recognition by the Squadron CO.
3 ) Operational Flying Clasp in Gold for Recce. Crews with Pendant "400" Signed by Fliegrführer 4, Colonel Hermann Busch.
4 ) Poem regarding the disbanding of Westa 5 in Lade (?) after 4 years of service.
5 ) Flying logbook, 9-9-40 till 8-5-45. 414 flights entered. May-41-Febr.42 from France (Brest) over the Atlantic; Febr.42-May 45 from Norway (a.o. Drontheim, Vaerness, Kirkeness, Banak, Gardemoen) over the North Atlantic. A total of 221 operational meteorological recce. sorties, flying He-111, Ju-88 and Ju-188, a.o. to Jan Mayen Island, Spitsbergen, Far Öer, etc.
Many interesting details, a.o. sighting of convoys, Allied naval task force with aircraft-carrier, encounter with Beaufighter, dropping of supply containers, etc.
Entry with last flight confirms, that on 8-5-45 Ju-188 registration nr. 43 + B was flown from Gardemoen to Lübeck and handed-over as ordered to the British airfïeld command. The crew was made POW.

Aug.39-Aug.40 he served with Inf.Rgt.47 of the 22.(LL) Inf.Div., the only German Airborne Infantry Division which took part in the 10-5-40 Airborne operation against The Netherlands (Rotterdam, The Hague).
Aug.40 he was transferred to the Airforce and trained as Wireless-Operator and finally Radar Specialist.. Aug.41-Febr.42 he served with Wett.Erk,St.2 Ob.d.L., a long range meteo recce. unit, operating from France (Brest) over the Atlantic.
Febr.42-Nov.44 he served with Wettererkundungsstaffel 5 (Westa 5), a long range meteo unit, active over the North Atlantic from airfields in Norway (a.o. Drontheim, Vaerness, Kirkeness, Banak, Gardemoen) Nov.44-May 45 he served with Westa 3, operating in the same area.
